Dixie Baxter celebrated her birthday on November 9th. She was born in Tremonton and actually grew up in the house that she and John live in. She was born one month early because of a falling accident that her mother had. She has 7 older siblings, but always felt closest to her "Twin" Steve. He is her cousin (if I'm remembering right) but he was raised by her parents.
Dixie and John have 8 children, 4 girls and 4 boys. They also have 32 grandchildren.
Dixie loves decorating. She has always loved music. She also loves to work physically, so working in the yard and gardening are also some of her favorite things. She has always loved doing hair and has come to the conclusion that she should have been a beautician.
Dixie has also always loved good entertainment. She loves going to shows, musicals, seeing art, watching dance, etc. She also loves genealogy and reading histories.
Dixie's heroes include her mother, leaders of the church, and her pioneer ancestors.
Dixie's favorite books are the scriptures. She always tries to put them first. She has never been a fan of light reading, but loves to dig into books that make you think. One of her favorite authors is C.S. Lewis. She also recently listened to a great book on tape called "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck.
Happy Birthday Dixie! We hope that your day was perfect. We are so grateful to have you in our ward and thank you for all of the things you do for all of us.
